On the Fringe of Heaven Artists’ Bios
Paul Hendrick Holowack
Paul Holowack is a multi-disciplinary artist who was born and raised in Edmonton, Alberta. He received his diploma of Fine Arts from MacEwan University and a Bachelor of Fine Arts from the University of Alberta in 2012. His work is created from an introverted mindset, evoking themes of metamorphosis and solace. Through judicious mark making, his images invite the viewer to engage with the tactile surfaces and abstracted bodily forms. His responsive approach with raw materiality and enigmatic forms drives his aesthetic and concepts. He is planning to foster his education and endeavors to apply for a Master’s Degree in Fine Art.
Currently, he works at the Society of Northern Alberta Print-Artists (SNAP gallery) as the Community Outreach Coordinator. Recently, he has been accepted into the Banff Artist in Residence Program to do a self-directed Printmaking residency at the Banff Center for the Arts for the early fall.
Jenna Mortemore
Born and raised in Edmonton, Jenna Mortemore chose to do her post-secondary studies here as well. She graduated in 2011 from the University of Alberta, with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Art and Design with Distinction. Her four years of study there incorporated classes in Drawing, Painting, and Printmaking, leaving her with the basis for a
multi-disciplinary studio practice. Jenna continued her studies on a full scholarship at Pixel Blue College, also in Edmonton, where she received a Diploma in 3D Animation and Modeling in the spring of 2012.
Currently, Jenna works for Nobis Studios as a graphic designer and 3D artist, while taking on other commissioned projects. This is her second year doing chalk art at Holy Trinity for the Fringe, and she looks forward to what this year’s project brings.
