7:00 pm: "Searching for Sundays" StudyFebruary 2, 2021 Like millions of her millennial peers, Rachel Held Evans didn't want to go to church anymore. The hypocrisy, the politics, the gargantuan building budgets, the scandals--church culture seemed so far removed from Jesus. Yet, despite her cynicism and misgivings, something kept drawing her back to Church. And so she set out on a journey to understand Church and to find her place in it. Centered around seven sacraments, Evans' quest takes readers through a liturgical year with stories about baptism, communion, confirmation, confession, marriage, vocation, and death that are funny, heartbreaking, and sharply honest. Mark you calendars for every Tuesday, starting January 19th @ 7pm on Zoom as we join to discuss this thought provoking book! You can reserve this book with EPL or purchase it via Amazon at the following LINK. Please contact the church office to receive the Zoom link. Thanks! |

A parable is not a teaching to be received in a passive way or just to be kept in the memory. Rather, it is an invitation to participate in the discovery of truth. A parable is a story that asks a question about life with no defined response. The response depends on the participation and reaction of the listeners. Mark your calendars to join us on Zoom Thursday evenings @ 7pm beginning January 21st as we explore 4 amazing parables and how they help us to see the face of God. Please contact the church office to receive the Zoom link. Thank you! |
