Ash Wednesday Service Please join us on Wednesday, March 1st at 7:00pm at Holy Trinity for an Ash Wednesday Service with imposition of ashes, and music provided by Ariose Women’s Choir. In the Christian tradition, Ash Wednesday marks the start of the holy season of Lent, a time for reflection and repentance in preparation for the celebration of Easter. For centuries, Christians have received a cross of ashes on the face at the beginning of that season as a reminder of mortal failings and an invitation to receive God’s forgiveness. Clergy from across the Diocese will also be participating in Ashes to Go, an initiative started a few years ago to offer ashes to commuters at LRT stations as they head to work and school. Ashes will be offered at the Churchill, Southgate, and Century Park LRT stations, as well as at NAIT and UofA between 6-9am. You are welcome to receive ashes at these locations, or come to the church service that evening.
