Ashes to Go – On Whyte!

So you’re too busy to make it to church on Ash Wednesday? Too much to do, working two jobs? Forgotten or fallen away from the church or feel like God won’t accept you? Well, if you can’t make it to the church building…the church will come to you. If you aren’t ready or willing to come to the building, the community will come to you. You can still take part in an ancient ritual whereby our foreheads are marked with the ashes of last year’s palms mixed with oil as a reminder of our own mortality and of our repentance (turning away from sin) and stating once more on the path God wishes for us. It’s really a statement of our sorrow at how we have failed to be God’s children and a statement of intent to live into the good news of God’s love. Tomorrow between 11:00 AM & 1 PM we’ll be on the corner of Whyte Avenue and 104 St. with Ashes to Go. So come one come all. Bring your latte’s, your business lunches, your sins and your failings and take a moment to say that you’re sorry and turn once again to the path you wish you were on.

-Remember that you are dust, and to dust you shall return. Turn away from sin and be faithful to the Gospel.
