7:00 pm: Racial Justice Studies

August 12, 2020

An important response to systemic racism and racial injustice is through education—educating ourselves and seeing the realities of the world beyond our singular perspective. Join us as we study together the many different facets of racism through five different sessions. You do not need to attend all sessions, but can pick and choose which are of interest for you (though we sure do encourage attending all of them as they are fascinating!). All sessions are listed below. A full description of each presentation can be found HERE. A Zoom link and signup will be sent out closer to the dates – but until then – mark your calendars!
*Please note that this study is also offered on Thursdays at Noon.

August 12: Spirituality and Racial Justice with Michael Curry
August 19: Whiteness and Racial Justice with Kelly Brown Douglas
August 26: Theology and Racial Justice with J. Kameron Carter
September 2: Racism and Racial Justice with Eduardo Bonilla-Silva
September 9: Reparation and Racial Justice with Jennifer Harvey

1:00 pm: Outdoor Family Fun Service

August 23, 2020

You are invited to join us this Sunday, August 23 from 1:00 to 2:00PM in the church garden for an Outdoor Family Fun Service!

Everyone is invited and welcome to join Rev. Eileen in the church garden for an interactive and creative service about the story of Moses. There will be lots of fun crafts and activities like rock painting, papyrus weaving, pyramid building with marshmallows, and more! We would be so happy to have you join us!

Covid Precautions: In order to help keep everyone as safe as possible, we request that you please wear a mask unless you have a health condition which prevents it. Each family group will also be at their own table with their own supplies.

An RSVP to Rev. Eileen is helpful, but not required.

In case of rain, we will meet in the Lower Hall instead of the church garden.

We hope to see you there!
