Maccabees Bible Study
March 29, 2023
THE 1ST AND 2ND BOOK OF MACCABEES - MAR. 22
Many of us have Bibles containing the Apocrypha, but not many of us have delved deeply into its contents. Many of us have heard of the Jewish festival of Hannukah, which occurs around the time of Christmas, but not many of us understand its origins.
The two Books of the Maccabees recount the history around the festival’s origins and provide some insight into how the people of Judah understood their relationship with God in a period about two centuries before the time of Jesus.
Join us at Holy Trinity for an eight-week study of these books, Wednesdays at 10:30 AM, following 10:00 AM Morning Prayer. Participants should have access to a Bible which includes these books, or contact the office and we can provide you with a copy of 1 & 2 Maccabees. Following is the proposed schedule.
