The Rev. Robin Walker

Fr. Robin was born in London UK, in 1948, moving to Canada with his family in 1952. He was raised in Drumheller AB, with higher education at the U. of A. He taught Jr. High Math. for two years before returning to obtain his M.Sc. in Statistics, after which he worked for the Gov’t of Alberta for nine years. In 1984, he enrolled at Emmanuel & St. Chad in Saskatoon to study for the priesthood, and was ordained Deacon in 1987, and Priest in 1988. After serving for 2½ years in the parishes of Barrhead and Lac la Nonne, he moved to Spruce Grove as Rector of St. Augustine’s Parkland, staying there almost 13 years. During his time in Spruce Grove, he also held a number of Diocesan appointments, including five years as Archdeacon, and 1½ years as Diocesan Stewardship Officer. He moved to Manitoba in Jan. 2003 to take up the position of Dean of the Diocese of Brandon and Rector of St. Matthew’s Cathedral, Brandon. Robin retired in 2013, and he and his wife Joanne returned to live in Edmonton. They have been happily married for 45 years, and have one daughter and two grandchildren, who live in Spruce Grove. Joanne & Robin have sung in various choirs over their years together, and are really enjoying being part of HTAC’s choir.

Ongoing interests: adult Christian education, the art of preaching, classical music, choral singing, cooking and enjoying good food, crossword puzzles, photography.
