This service meets in the Office of the church. Please enter through the parking lot door (ring the doorbell on the door and we'll buzz you in). Thank you! 10:30 am: Bible Study: 1 & 2 Samuel10:30 am: Bible Study: 1 & 2 Samuel You are invited to just us for a Bible Study on "The Story of King David: The First and Second Books of Samuel" on Wednesday mornings from 10:30 to 11:30AM, following the Morning Prayer service at 10:00. In this study, we will read through the longest single narrative in the Bible, taking us from the time of the Judges through the establishment of the monarchy in Israel, to the reign of King David, and his death. While not ignoring the theological framework, the emphasis will be on the text as story. To take part fully, participants should read each section before the session. Wright's The Day the Revolution Began: Reconsidering the Meaning of Jesus's Crucifixion. In this book, the leading biblical scholar seeks to move beyond one-dimensional understandings of the cross, exploring how Jesus's earliest followers saw his death as playing a pivotal role in the larger biblical story of God's plan to work through his people to bring restoration and reconciliation to the world. We will meet on Saturday mornings at 10:00 a.m. beginning January 14th, meeting every two weeks until May 20th.
