Art Exhibition: Stephen Spisak
Please join us for an art show opening on Thursday, March 1st from 7-9PM. The artist Stephen Spisak will be displaying beautiful pieces with a focus on landscapes, nature, and wildlife. If you cannot attend on Thursday, please stop by sometime during the following few weeks to view the collection.
About the Artist: Stephen Spisak studied design and illustration in England and currently lives in Edmonton, Alberta. He has spent the last 35 years working as a designer and illustrator in Edmonton. In 1978 the Commonwealth Games Foundation commissioned him to design the commemorative medals for the games in Edmonton and he was also involved in the Universiade Games in Edmonton, designing the symbols and signage for the games. He won first place awards for depicting horse racing at the Northlands Art Competition. In 1984 he was asked to design and illustrate a poster for the 60th anniversary of the Canadian Air Force for the Namao Air Show. Stephen is regularly invited to exhibit his work in the Western Canadian Artist Exhibition and Sale in Calgary. In addition, Ducks Unlimited selected him as Artist of the Year (Alberta) for the past two years.
