Friday, Nov. 18: HTAC playwright David Belke’s play Who Goes There?, a script that ponders the presence of God in real lives. Sanctuary, 7:30-9PM
Who Goes There? is a commissioned script based on interviews with returned war vets, street youth, elementary-aged children, and seniors. Revealing their own understanding of the presence of God at pivotal moments, this script explores a multitude of experiences of birth, marriage, and death in a way both poignant and comical. A workshop production, we are looking for audience feedback in order to produce this show at Fringe 2017!
THE STORY: When a combat soldier (Matt Boisvert) is admitted to a hospital for a routine check-up he unexpectedly encounters another patient (Kristen Finlay) who has been seeking stories from others about their actual experiences of birth and death. The soldier is drawn into the seeker’s intriguing project, but he soon discovers there is more to the her quest than meets the eye. And in the midst of sudden tragedy the interviews provide an unforeseen insight into something deeper than mere words.
Who Goes There? is written by David Belke based on a concept by Margaret MacPherson. The presentations are directed by Tracy Carroll with performances by Matt Boisvert, Kristen Finlay, Mary-Ellen Perley, Michelle Robb and Morgan Yamata.
