Sarah HoytPianist Sarah Hoyt has performed across Europe and Canada as a solo and collaborative pianist. Originally from Edmonton, Sarah graduated with degrees in piano performance from the École Normale de Musique de Paris Alfred Cortot and the Université de Montréal. Her teachers have included Jeanine Bonjean (Alfred Cortot’s assistant), Michael Wladkowski, Devy Erlih and Marc Durand. She has participated in residencies at the Cité Internationale des Arts in Paris, The Banff Centre and spent many summers at the Banff International Keyboard Festival.

Sarah is passionate about both French and Canadian music and is committed to presenting Canadian composers to European audiences. Her eclectic background in the arts has led to numerous interdisciplinary projects that combine music, philosophy and art.

In September 2015 she was chosen to perform Canadian artist Patrick Bernatchez’s Piano Orbital as part of the annual Museum Night in the Grote Kerk in The Hague. Sarah’s recording of this piece was included in exhibitions at the Musée d’art contemporain de Montréal and Toronto’s The Power Plant this past year. Her own conceptual video piece, Piano Four Hands has also been shown in galleries in Paris including the Gallerie Christiane Peugeot.
