Lidia Khaner oboe
She has many recordings to her credit, including CDs of works for oboe and strings by Mozart, and oboe and piano works with pianist Janet Scott Hoyt.Principal Oboe with the Edmonton Symphony Orchestra since 1996, Lidia Khaner studied oboe in her native Poland at the Warsaw Academy of Music and in Germany at the Stuttgart Hochschule für Musik. She has performed as principal oboist and soloist with the Sinfonia Varsovia, the Polish Chamber Orchestra, the Deutsche Kammerakademie, the Sinfonia Helvetica, the Edmonton Symphony Orchestra, and the Alberta Baroque Ensemble.
Lidia Khaner is a 3rd degree black belt in Taekwon-do and has been twice part of Team Canada in ITF Taekwon-do World Championships in Belarus and Estonia.
Janet Scott Hoyt piano
Her discography includes recordings of horn trios by Brahms and Raum,The Passionate Englishman for cello and piano, Inspiration for oboe and piano, From the Library of Joseph Szigeti for violin and piano, and the Brahms violin and piano sonatas.Born in Alberta, Janet Scott Hoyt studied at the University of Alberta, in Europe and at The Banff Centre. Active as a soloist, chamber musician and collaborative pianist, performances have taken her across Canada, the U.S. and Europe.
Ms. Scott Hoyt was Professor of Piano at the University of Alberta for 16 years. She was the recipient of the Faculty of Arts Undergraduate Teaching Award and the Rutherford Award for Excellence in Undergraduate Teaching.
