It’s harvest time at the Old Tyme Fair, Saturday September 14 at Holy Trinity Anglican Church on the corner of 101 Street and 84th Avenue!
Drop off your preserves, pies and produce between 1:15 and 1:45pm on Saturday September 14 in the church’s upper hall. Be sure they are clearly identified as your own. All proceeds will go to offset the costs of the fair and anything that isn’t sold will be donated to the Youth Emergency Shelter.
There will be judges. There will be ribbons. There will be the opportunity to purchase treats from our gardens and our kitchens.
Prizes will be awarded in these three categories: 1) jams/jellies; 2) pickles; and 3) fruit pies or tarts.
If you would like to have your jams, jellies or pickles judged, please prepare a small sample jar for testing. If you would like to have your fruit pie or tart judged – the judges will slice a piece to test and the other pieces will be sold once the judging is complete. So some lucky folks will be able to enjoy a slice of the prize-winning pies or tarts.
If you would like to donate produce from your garden for us to sell at the produce table, it will be gratefully received. The judges might even decide to award a prize to some deserving zucchini or tomato. The criteria will be left up to the judges’ discretion.
Judging will take place from 1:45 to 2:15pm.
