The Rev. Dr. Mark Anschutz – On Gratitude

“In gratitude, in deep gratitude for this moment, this meal, these people, we give ourselves to you. Take us out to live lives as changed people because we have shared the Living Bread and cannot remain the same. Ask much of us, expect much from us, enable much by us, encourage many through us.”

In April, both clergy and lay people will have an opportunity to come together to share thoughts about gratitude at two “stewardship” workshops, led by the Rev. Dr. Mark Anschutz. Clergy Day will be held Thursday, April 26, from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm. The diocesan day will run Saturday, April 28, from 10 am to 2 pm. Both workshops will be held at Christ Church, 12116-102 Avenue, Edmonton.  In addition Rev. Anschutz will be preaching passionately at Holy Trinity Anglican (10037 – 84 Avenue, Edmonton) on Sunday April 29 at both the 8:30 & 10:30 services.

Mark is a “retired” third-generation priest who now devotes himself full-time to mentoring and advocating. He has served as a college chaplain, rector of small and large urban and suburban parishes, trustee to schools and seminaries and is extremely active in providing services to the poor and homeless, as well as coaching young clergy. He co-chaired a $20 million project to restore the monastery of the Society of St. John the Evangelist. At this juncture, he is very much engaged in issues of hunger, health and extreme poverty as defined in the eight Millennium Development Goals (MDGs). In this regard, he serves on the Board of Episcopalians for Global Reconciliation.

Come and engage in a series of discussions that will reinvigorate your passion for what we can do together as the people of God.
