The second concert of the Connection Series of the Vaughan String Quartet on Saturday, October 29th at 7:30pm at Holy Trinity Anglican Church features works for string quartet by the great opera composers Giuseppe Verdi and Giacomo Puccini along with two pieces written by the young talented musicians Davide Runcini and Simone Boi. This will be the world premiere of this music specifically composed for the Vaughan String Quartet after its Italian debut in summer 2016.
A special treat for our audience will be the performance of “I Lombari”, an arrangement of Verdi’s music for quartet and narrator, written by Victoria based composer Liova Bueno and librettist Mark Morris. After the successful Milonga after the “Homage to South America” concert we have decided to add a special content to this event too! The concert will be followed by a reception in the church’s Upper Hall. Light refreshments will be served and live music will be played by pianist Emilio De Mercato and tenor Andrea Pinna. The same hall will feature a visual art exhibition by Italian artist Carlo Pietrasanta. For more information, please visit our website.
