Synopsis: Jodi, a guerilla gardener and scavenger, uncovers the truth about Ryder, the neighbourhood pimp, while Nanny Grey stirs the soup.
Read by actors Nicole St. Martin, Cole Humeny and Lori Mohacsy, with stage directions read by director and dramaturge Tracy Carroll.
Katherine Koller writes for stage, radio and film and page. Four of Katherine’s plays are published in her collection, Voices of the Land: The Seed Savers and Other Plays and many others have been anthologized. Last Chance Leduc won the 2013 Alberta Playwriting Competitio n, was a finalist in the 2015 Herman Voaden National Playwriting Competition, and was produced at the Backstage Theatre in 2018. For CBC, Katherine wrote Cowboy Boots and a Corsage, Magpie and Abby’s Place. She prepared ballet libretti for Citie Ballet and her opera libretto, The Handless Maiden, will receive a staged recital reading in Vancouver in March 2019. For Company of Women on the Screen, Katherine has written several short films, including Sustainable Me a six-part documentary on Edmonton youth changing their world. Her first novel, Art Lessons, was a finalist in the Robert Kroetsch Edmonton Book Prize and the Alberta Readers’ Choice Award in 2017. A collection of Katherine’s short stories, Winning Chance, will appear next spring from Great Plains. Katherine is a 2018-19 Writer-in-Residence at the Canadian Authors Association. She teaches in the Department of English and Film Studies at the University of Alberta and co-produces Script Salon.
