Blessing of a Home in Epiphany
One of the ancient traditions of our church is to pray for God’s blessing on a home each year following a major festival. Epiphany and the season following the feast is one of the traditional times in the church for this blessing to take place. If you are interested in having the clergy visit your home for a “House Blessing” during Epiphanytide this year [January 6-February 17] please contact the Church Office to schedule a visit.
Lord God of heaven and earth, you revealed your only-begotten Son to the world by the light of a star. Visit this house with your light of your presence, that all who pass through this door may see the face of Christ and come to know that they are loved by you. We ask this blessing through the same Christ, Jesus our Lord. Amen.
May the Lord watch over our going out and our coming in, from this time forth and forevermore. Amen.
