You are cordially invited to an Introduction to EfM, on Sunday, March 16 and also on

Sunday April 27, from 2:30 p.m – 4:00 p.m., at All Saints Cathedral (10035 – 103rd Street, Edmonton).

EfM stands for a 4 year program of study called ‘Education for Ministry’. EfM helps Christians personally relate faith to their lives and to fulfill their baptismal ministries to love God, to serve Christ, and to proclaim the Gospel in word and deed.

The program blends individual study of the Old and New Testaments, Church History, Theology, and Ethics with work in Seminar groups guided by accredited Mentors reflecting on issues raised by participants’ lives, studies, and ministries.

The heart of EfM is a practice called ‘Theological Reflection’ through which one learns how to become more attuned and open to God’s gracious gifts and guidance.

Bishop Jane Alexander endorses EfM as a valuable learning resource for people of the Diocese and the Diocese formally sponsors the program so that people can enroll at a reduced rate for tuition.

At the Introduction to EfM you will:

  • Hear a brief overview of the purpose of EfM
  • Learn how the program integrates individual study and participation in Seminar Groups
  • Meet some of the accredited EfM Mentors of the Diocese
  • Experience the practice of Theological Reflection
  • Hear from people of the Diocese who have graduated from EfM
  • Learn how you can enroll in EfM for September 2014
