What is the Christian Response to War?

Have you ever wondered  what the appropriate Christian response should be to war?  Have you struggled with the idea of pacifism or wrestled with the concept of a “just war”?  Have you or any of your loved ones been directly or indirectly effected by war?  Come and join us as Holy Trinity Anglican and Trinity Lutheran Churches struggle with these ideas and share our pain and loss as we look for guidance and healing.

We will meet together twice for discussions and then gather together for a service of remembrance and healing.

Session 1- Oct. 25 “A Christian’s Call to Pacifism” led by Dr. Stephen Martin, Assoc. Professor of Theology at King’s Univ. and Emanuel Blosser from the Society of Friends.  7 PM @ The Elephant & Castle 10314 82 Avenue Northwest, Edmonton 2nd floor.

Session 2 – Session 2 (Nov.1) – “Christian Just War Theory” led by Rev. Craig Wentland, U of A.  We will also share our stories of how war has affected us.

Session 3 (Nov 10) – A Service of Remembrance and Healing led by the clergy of HTAC and TLC, held at Trinity Lutheran at 7 PM.
